ATI has developed quite the reputation for delivering rock-solid quality at a terrific price, and here's yet another feather in their cap. The FX45 GI is a commander-length 1911 that stays faithful to the classic 1911s, in look and feel.

It features all steel parts and mahogany grips, as well as a nicely-done parkerized finish. It utilizes John Browning's classic cam-action design, and the lock-up is tight, as are tolerances in general. The safeties, mag release, and slide release controls are unobtrusive and right where they should be. In short, it's a classic. The low price is just the cherry on top.
