Rated 5 out of 5 by KENNETH from THE BEST !!!!!TO ME THIS IS THE BEST BUCK SHOT YOU CAN USE 24 PELLETS COMPARED TO 9. I HAVE BEEN USING THESE FOR YEARS. I KILLED MY FIRST BUCK WITH THESE OUT OF A H&R SINGLE SHOT W/ MODIFIED CHOKE AT 60+ YARDS DEER DROPPED IN ITS TRACKS. AT THAT TIME IT WAS THE ONLY GUN I HAD FOR HUNTING. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DIFFERANT SHOTGUNS AND HAVE USED THIS AND WINCHESTER #4 BUCK. IT IS THE ONLY BUCKSHOT I WILL USE. REMEMBER #1 BUCK IS .30 CALIBER AND #4 IS .24 CALIBER BOTH WITH MORE PELLETS THAN # 00 BUCK AND MORE THAN ENOUGH LEAD TO DROP A DEER. WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT ? COMBINE THAT WITH SPORTSMANS GUIDES SERVICE AND PRICE AND YOU HAVE A WIN WIN !!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JayRod from Yes, it's still around......Many people forget that #1 buckshot is still available since the marketing craze for #4 and 00 buckshot have taken the gun industry by storm. However, one important item to point out is a #1 buckshot measures in at .30 in size while a 00 pellet is .33 in size. What is my point? After doing your math homework, this is not a huge difference in size. I am sure some know-it-all gun nuts out there will argue with me but see for yourself and compare them. This load offers 24 .30 sized pellets making this a nice payload for predators and even deer where applicable. I purchased 50 rounds and managed to see readings of 1034 fps thru the chronograph based on an average of 5 shots. My Browning Gold cycled this load with no problems and managed to keep 19 pellets in the thoracic area (kill zone) of a man-sized target at 15 yards using a Briley Extended Modified choke. I compared this pattern with a Browning BPS with the same similar results and choke. I think #1 buckshot has lost some steam in the shotgun ammo popularity aisle as compared to #4 and 00 buckshot, but the performance and payload speak for themselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SlowFoot from I needed to find #1 buckshot..Here in Oregon most people hunt with rifles for big game, but here in SW Oregon I have found that my deer hunting takes place in brush and at fairly close range.Oregon mandates that the smallest buckshot allowed for big game is #1 but all that is available is #4 and #00.#1 buck is only .003 smaller than #00 and .13 grains lighter, but in a 2 3/4" shell holds 16 #1 shot against 9 in #00.Buckshot is a game of numbers and distance. #1 puts almost twice as much lead in the air at the same initial velocity as #00.
