This U.S. Military RA-1 Pilot Chute is the first link in the parachute deployment chain. When a jumper pulls the pilot chute from the bottom-of-container stow, the internal spring pops it open, drag does the rest, and the main canopy follows. Polyester mesh sides and nylon ripstop construction keep it light and packable. Built to military spec and equally at home slowing your boat's drift as a fishing drift sock.
