Built in collaboration with Shadow Systems and John Lovell of the Warrior Poet Society (and ONLY available here), the new War Poet 9mm was created to be the ultimate lightweight, multi-role Pistol. WPS chose the MR920 as the platform because it excels as both a concealed weapon as well as a range pistol, and—more importantly—it features a terrific optics mounting system.
The new optics mounting system
The new optics mounting system is among the best we've ever seen, and was the result of considerable effort. By redesigning internal slide components, Shadow Systems was able to relocate portions of the operating system to allow strong, deep screw placement; extremely low placement for true co-witness with iron sights; and, most importantly, direct mounting of several red dots WITHOUT adapter plates.
The Shadow Systems Multi-Role Frame
The War Poet 9mm is built around the Shadow Systems® Multi-Role Frame, which was designed to provide dramatically reduced recoil and muzzle flip. The frame makes use of new manufacturing techniques to place more texture around the curves of the grip—so it really sticks, even when your hands are wet or sweating. The frame is contoured to provide an ultra-high grip, with an extended beavertail to eliminate slide bite. It also comes with interchangeable backstraps that fundamentally change the grip angle of the gun to fit your natural point of aim. In addition to a generous internal magwell, the War Poet pistol includes an optional magwell for faster reloads.
The Barrel
For the barrel, WPS chose a 416R stainless barrel with conventional rifling—meaning it's compatible with lead bullets. Stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant, so it'll last far longer when exposed to sweat or humidity. The barrel is fluted to reduce overall weight, and comes threaded to accommodate a muzzle brake of your choice.
The Trigger
For the trigger, Warrior Poet chose a flat-faced polymer trigger that breaks clean after a 4-4.5 lb. trigger pull, and resets very quickly and audibly. You can hear and FEEL the reset, which makes follow-up shots more accurate. The end result is a highly customized lightweight Pistol that excels in every role. The Holosun HS507C
The HS507C X2 gives you Multiple Reticle System (MRS) technology and extra-long battery life in a rugged reflex sight built for pistol applications. MRS technology provides the flexibility to change reticles with the push of a button. If you need a precise shot, run the 2 MOA dot only. When you need a reticle for fast target acquisition, turn on the 32 MOA circle with the push of a button. Or, combine both. Advanced LED technology is capable of squeezing up to 50,000 hours of life from a single battery. If you should happen to be without a power source, Solar Failsafe technology keeps your optic operating off of available ambient light—so battery failure is NOT an option. The HS507C X2 also features Shake Awake motion-sensing technology that powers up the optic with the slightest movement. Multi-coated lens offer a parallax-free sight picture with unlimited eye relief. Durable 7075 aluminum construction is unaffected by extreme weather conditions.
