For years, if you wanted to shoot the venerable 5.7x28mm round, you had one very expensive option available to you. Thankfully, the new Smith & Wesson M&P 5.7 is here to give shooters of all stripes a better, more affordable option in the flat-shooting, hard-penetrating 5.7x28mm round.

The M&P 5.7 is built around Smith & Wesson's innovative TEMPO two-piece, rotating barrel system with a front gas port that ensures nothing in the action moves until the bullet has cleared the gas port. Once the bullet is past the gas port, the barrel rotates within the shroud to unlock the action while also significantly reducing recoil. It's safe, it's unbelievably reliable, and it's incredibly soft-shooting.

The M&P 5.7's full-sized frame with wraparound stippling gives you plenty to hold onto, while the reversible mag release and ambidextrous slide stop provide easy operation for all shooters. The flat-faced trigger gives you a greater degree of control and breaks clean at just under 4 pounds. And the optics-ready slide accepts direct mounting of RMSc-footprint red dots.
