Ruger® LCP® MAX .380 ACP Semi-automatic Pistol

The all-new LCP MAX maintains the pocket-friendly footprint of the LCP II while enhancing the capacity to 10+1 rounds—making it one of the most concealable high-capacity sub-compacts available today. Like its predecessor, the LCP MAX is just 0.81" wide at the slide and 5.17" long overall, so it's just as easy to carry, and even fits in most existing LCP II holsters. The extra capacity only adds about 0.4" to the grip height—a small price to pay for the extra payload.

But while the dimensions are nearly identical, the MAX differs from its older siblings in a few key areas. It features flared rear slide serrations that make it quite a bit easier to manipulate the slide, and the magazine release has been both re-textured and upsized for easier mag swaps. The MAX's sights are also a fair bit better, with a white-outlined green tritium front sight that's easy to pick up in the heat of the moment. The U-notch rear sight can be used to cock the pistol one-handed in the case of emergency.

Perhaps the most interesting new feature is the overhauled cam geometry: this new system delays the unlocking, slows the slide down, and ultimately reduces felt recoil. The new cam geometry helps take the "bite" out of the .380 ACP compared to other pocket .380s. And it's just one more reason that the new Ruger LCP MAX is one of the best micro-compact pistols we've seen in some time.
