They've combined the innovative Fragmenting Hollow Point with Shell Shock Tech’s groundbreaking new cases to create the ultimate self-defense round. It delivers more kinetic energy than a lot of .45 ACP self-defense rounds, except it’s more convenient than any self-defense round in today’s market.

Like their proven Civil Defense line, the Ultra-Light's Fragmenting Hollow Point literally explodes when it fills with fluids, delivering devastating wound channels and hydrostatic shock that increases stopping power by ten-fold. Following this explosion, the bullet fragments into a starburst-shaped pattern that creates multiple wound channels—but also reduces the risk of overpenetration and collateral damage.

But the Ultra-Light takes the performance to the next level with Shell Shock's NAS3 cases. The cases are a two-piece nickel alloy shell with an aluminum base that's twice as strong as brass, and only half the weight. Shell Shock’s NAS3 9mm cases are 50% lighter than brass cases, offer greater lubricity and will not abrade, clog, foul, wear-out or damage breach and ejector mechanisms. The cases offer greater corrosion resistance, higher tensile strength (2x stronger) and more elasticity than brass. NAS3 cases have been tested successfully to pressures over 50k psi. NAS3 cases eject cool to-the-touch and can be picked up with a magnet.
