For years, the X-Bolt has been the benchmark for bolt action performance, delivering free-floated accuracy, superior durability, and a trigger that puts other factory rifles to shame. It starts with a steel receiver that is glass bedded within the stock. Glass bedding is a time-consuming process, but it's worth it because it creates an exact match between the action and stock—and because it free-floats the barrel. Free-floated barrels are inherently more accurate because they are allowed to vibrate, flex and move freely within the stock, WITHOUT interference from contact points. Each barrel is hand-chambered for precise headspacing—again, a time-consuming process, and one that other rifle manufacturers often skip—which provides superior accuracy and shot-to-shot consistency. But all that accuracy doesn't mean a thing if the trigger lets you down. To that end, the X-Bolt comes standard with the 3-lever Feather Trigger that provides a clean, crisp pull with no take-up or creep and minimal overtravel. The trigger is screw-adjustable from 3 to 5 lbs., and is highly polished on all critical contact surfaces. Its synthetic stock with Dura-Touch Armor is built tough for taking on rough terrain and is perfect for hunting in less-than-ideal weather conditions. Nice touches like a bolt unlock button that allows you to cycle the bolt without disengaging the safety complete the package, making the X-Bolt Composite Stalker a step above standard factory rifles.
