Winchester® has done it again, creating a heavy-barrel rifle that tips the scales at just 7.5 pounds! Thanks to their increased stiffness and rigidity (among other reasons), heavy barrels are capable of delivering accuracy beyond the typical sporter barrel. But there's always been a downside: the excess weight.
Well, Winchester has solved the problem with some key weight reductions. For starters, the barrel features a deep-cut muzzle crown and deep fluting, helping to eliminate mass without sacrificing performance. Additionally, the Model 70 Coyote Light features a Bell and CarlsonTM stock with cut forend. The stock also features a skeletonized aluminum bedding block.
