The original Walther PDP took the shooting world by storm, offering a full suite of "aftermarket" features in a reasonably priced factory gun. The new PDP Pro SD takes the already-excellent pistol to new heights with a threaded barrel, improved optics cut, and new trigger. The result is one of the most feature-loaded factory handguns we've ever offered.

The 5.1" barrel comes from the factory with 1/2x28 threads, giving you plenty of options for mounting a brake or suppressor. Walther also included a thread cap if you want to run it without a muzzle device.

The new optics cut is just as deep as the original, but has been extended front-to-back by about 2mm to accommodate a wider range of red dots. The deep cut allows your red dot of choice to ride lower in the slide, allowing you to use the factory iron sights as a back-up optic. Like the original, the PDP Pro SD doesn't come with a mounting plate out of the box, but as soon as you know which red dot you want, you simply contact Walther to get the corresponding optic mounting plate absolutely FREE of charge. (That means you aren't getting charged for optics plates you'll never use.)

Last but certainly not least, the PDP Pro SD comes with the updated Dynamic Performance Trigger, which features a significant reduction in pull weight (it breaks at about 4 lbs.), take-up and reset. The Dynamic Performance Trigger replaces the curved blade of the old Performance Duty Trigger with a flat blade that provides enhanced control and feel wherever your finger rests. To put it bluntly, it's one of the best factory triggers we've ever seen.

Finished off with classic features like the double-sided slide stop and reversible mag release, the new PDP Pro SD is one of the best factory pistols we've seen—and one of the best values, too.
