The U.S. Military Multi Purpose Tripper is a modern invention for a world in which troops face continued danger from hidden mines, booby traps and other IED (Improvised Explosive Devices). This small, lightweight piece of metal is pre-cut to be easily fashioned into a personal grapnel for attaching to paracord and dragging through loose dirt in tunnels, around buildings, vehicles, debris piles and any other suspicious areas. Can be modified to have either blunt or sharpened ends, and in some cases the sharpened version has even been used as a survival tool to spear fish or frogs.
