Rated 5 out of 5 by BraveUlysses from Top shelf government contractor product. A sub-zero sleeping system when put together with nice storage/compression bag. The nice aspect to this is the ability to use both or single bags. In either case, use enclosed line and/or vapor barrier liner to prevent moisture build-up in down. In prolonged use, while down is a superior insulator--ever wonder how geese swim around in the coldest water?--it can absorb moisture from breathing and persperation of user. A bivy bag on the outside is advisable to protect bag's outer shell.

When Sportsman's Guide offered this bag for sale a couple of week back and then also offered to double the club discount, I decided to take a chance and order it. Boy am I glad I did...because this is hands down the best cold weather bag I have ever purchased. I already have the military's ECWS 4-piece modular system, which while very nice, is not down filled. Tags in this bag indicate it was made in Canada and the tag says 100% Feather Down, 100% Nylon shell and 100% polyester liner. The sample I received looks absolutely NEW in all respects with heavy duty zippers, excellent stitching, and tie tabs to keep it all together. This is a huge heavy bag... nothing you would want to tote over the Appalachian Trail, but certainly something you would want for a base camp, while winter camping or perhaps on a cold weather canoe trip where lugging it over short portages is not problematical. I am thrilled with this purchase and if it was still available at the bargain price I originally paid (Under $200) I would buy one or two more. Even at the current price point it is sure to please anyone looking for an as-new heavy duty sleep system that is bound to give a lifetime or two of service. If it goes on sale again I will be back to buy more!
