Originally an inseparable part of any WWII Army Air Force pilot's uniform, the A-2 was originally phased out of service beginning in 1943. But due to its overwhelming popularity, pressure to bring back the A-2 continued for decades until finally, in 1988, the Bomber Jacket became official Air Force issue once again. This reproduction is of the modern Air Force version, with hook-and-loop patches on either side for attaching name and insignia. Large regulation patch pockets are supplemented by additional side hand pockets. A real piece of military aviation history you can wear in your everyday life.
