Rated 5 out of 5 by blkadder from A great axe for the money I am always looking for interesting axes, and this one does not disappoint. This is probably not something you are going to hook to your belt and hike around with, mostly because this is heavy. It is well made with a pretty good edge on it. I spent a few minutes with a stone and got it sharp enough to do some wood splitting and the edge holds up well. I gave the handle a couple of coats of linseed oil (same stuff I use on my M1 Garand) and I think this axe will be with me for a very long time. Worth the money for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DLTMichigan from Swiss Military Surplus Reserve Axe Very heavy head 3-4#. More of a "Miner's Axe at just under 24". Handle mounted about average into head (slightly crooked). Nice wood handles. Needs to be sharpened before use. Has the thicker blade profile for splitting wood.
