Inspired by the beloved HS Produkt VHS Rifle in use with government and law enforcement agencies around the world, the all-new Springfield Hellion combines the proven bullpup concept with state-side enhancements to create a lightweight and highly maneuverable tactical weapon. Designed for use in tight spaces, the Hellion's bullpup design substantially reduces overall length without compromising ballistic performance or barrel length. Because the magazine and action are behind the trigger, the point of balance is closer to your body, allowing for better control.
Virtues of the bullpup design aside, the Hellion is a superb rifle on its own merits. It features a 20" 4150 steel barrel with Melonite® coating for corrosion resistance and 4-prong flash hider that helps direct gas and noise forward. The polymer receiver is equipped with a 5-position stock with adjustable cheek weld, as well as dual ejection ports and case deflectors. Changing ejection to left or right is a simple matter that can be done without special tools. Those dual ejection ports, combined with the ambidextrous safety selector and non-reciprocating ambidextrous charging handle, make the Hellion friendly for righties and lefties.
