Built on the same frame as every other CR920X model, the CR920X Foundation touts sleek ergonomics, real-world shootability, and bet-your-life reliability for significantly less than you'd expect.
Like the Elite, the Foundation carries like a micro but fights like a service pistol. It's slim and lightweight, but features a full-length grip that provides better backstrap contact in the palm of your hand along with a robust 15+1 capacity.
It also features an optics cut-out for direct mounting of popular red dots (more on that below), so if you want to run the CR920X with an optic, it couldn't be easier.
The grip frame is aggressively textured on all sides, so it sticks in the palm of your hand without unnecessary discomfort or abrasion. The pronounced dovetail prevents slide bite and allows for a high grip. The CR920X Foundation is a fully loaded pistol that delivers all the features you need—and nothing you don't.
More On the Optics Mounting System
The new optics mounting system is among the best we've ever seen, and was the result of considerable effort. By redesigning internal slide components, Shadow Systems was able to relocate portions of the operating system to allow:
1. Strong, deep screw placement.
2. Extremely low placement for true co-witness with iron sights
3. Most importantly, direct mounting of several red dots WITHOUT adapter plates.
No past designs have combined all 3 of these game-changing attributes. The CR920 optics cut allows for direct mounting of popular red dots like the Holosun 507k, Shield RMSc, and Vortex Defender.
