Savage Axis XP, Bolt Action, .270 Winchester, 22 Barrel, 3-9x40 Scope, 4+1 Rounds is rated out of 5 by 4.Rated 4 out of 5 by hawkeye from Remember when Savage rifles were inexpensive? This instrument is light, handy and everything works smoothly. I have not fired it, but if it holds a decent group 'there is my white tail rifle.' My savages: 110, 111, 116, have been among my most accurate hunting rifles. I cannot give this one a five until I drop a buck with it.Date published: 2017-04-21Rated 5 out of 5 by matt from love it!! haven't got the chance to use it,I am very pleased with my purchaseDate published: 2017-03-11Rated 4 out of 5 by hawkeye from great value Having owned several Savage rifles (110,116) I noticed immediately the trigger was similar to all the other Savages I have used. Very crisp, which translates to accuracy. The barrel is well free floated (checked it) good for accuracy. Loading mag is okay (staggered) , the mag is quiet once in the rifle (good if you are a hunter.) The scope/mount etc is low end but good enough , and it is mounted with enough ER if you wear glasses. Mine was a Bushnell, and I never had one fail. The bore sighting might be a little off, but I have not fired it yet to be certain. The round loading into the action is good, the ejection is a little weak, at least in my gun. Your first shot better be good, it ejects loaded rounds fine, but they don't clear the action without tilting the rifle. I have not fired it; if it ejects empty rounds clear of the action it is a five. I will give it to one of my sons after zeroing it.Date published: 2016-12-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeff from Great Gun, Great Price! Savage is a great gun and for the money you can't beat this, with a Bushnell scope also. Thanks Sportsman's guide.Date published: 2016-07-30
