Sako® A7 Big Game .300 Winchester Magnum Bolt Action Rifle
Finnish gunmaker Sako® has developed a sterling reputation, and it isn't hard to see why. They have a long tradition of producing superbly accurate firearms that rival custom builds — but at a fraction of the price. The tradition lives on with the A7 Big Game Rifle, featuring a 24.4" stainless barrel, threaded muzzle, Roughtech stock, and a number of innovations that elevate it above standard production rifles.
It starts with a cold-hammer-forged barrel that is fluted to remove excess weight. The barrel is threaded with a 15x1 RH pitch, then free-floated within an aluminum-bedded Roughtech stock. The stock delivers solid gripping surface and fits nicely in the hands, and features a right-hand palm swell to make it a little more comfortable.
The A7 Big Game is built on a rock-solid 2-lug bolt that locks up tight for precision accuracy. The trigger is a typical Sako job — crisp and predictable — and is user-adjustable between 2-4 pounds without removing the stock. The magazine is a co-polymer DBM that can be top-loaded while inserted into the Rifle. It's held firmly in place by Sako's innovative Total Control Latch that prevents accidental mag releases. To release the mag, simply push up while activating the rear lever.
And it all comes backed by Sako's (and Beretta's) sub-MOA accuracy guarantee with a 5-shot group at 100 yards. Turns out that when you combine premium, time-tested components with smart innovations, you can afford to offer that kind of guarantee.
