Create a bat-friendly place in your backyard with this Decorated Bat House. It houses up to 50 bats and provides a safe haven for mothers to rear their roost. The Bat House come assembled, but requires mounting to a pole (not included). Use the included Bat House Adapter to quickly mount your Bat House on an S&K Tri-Tel or Quad-Tel Pole with (4) 3/4" to 1" lag screws (not included).

Bat House is created at Scenic River Industries, a workshop that provides meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

    Bat House Placement Tips:
  • The bottom of bat house should be mounted at least 10' from the ground
  • Mount it 20-30' from the nearest trees
  • Multiple houses can be mounted side-by-side on buildings and structures, or mounted back-to-back on poles
  • Mount in areas that receive 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day
  • Face it south, east, or southeast to catch the heat of the sun as it rises
  • Internal temperatures should be 80-100°F in the summer for mothers to raise their young
  • It can take up to 2 years for bats to move into a house. If bats do not occupy your house after 2 years, try moving the house to a new location.
  • Bats are loyal to their summer roost sites and should return yearly once they take up residency.
