The full-sized Security-9 has been a huge hit with shooters looking for superior reliability and modern ergonomics in a versatile and budget-friendly package. Now, it's back as the highly concealable Security-9 Compact. It's fundamentally the same gun as the full-sized Security-9, with the same shrouded internal hammer and Secure Action System. But it's about 0.7" shorter in length and roughly 0.6" shorter in height—so it virtually disappears underneath your clothing.

The Secure Action is derived from the reliable and proven hammer-fired LCP II fire control system, combining the smooth trigger pull of the LCP II with the short, crisp feel and positive reset of a single action. The internal hammer provides strong ignition force yet allows for easier slide racking—and won't catch on clothes or holsters when drawn.

The low-profile safety is likewise very unobtrusive on the draw, but is still very easy to operate. The contoured grip tucks nicely into your hand, giving you easy access to the trigger and mag release. The grip itself is what Ruger calls a medium texture…it's not too aggressive, but still easy to hold onto. It's easy to carry. It's a joy to shoot.
