Rated 5 out of 5 by midiaura from Serious Air Rifle I've owned this air gun for a year now, so I believe I am somewhat qualified to review this product. I go out in the desert and target shoot real guns with my friends, but sometimes on a lazy weekend afternoon I like to crack a cold one, kick back in the back yard and plink cans with my air rifles. It's all fun and games until you buy the Ruger Air Magnum. My first shot was a total wake up call. The large air piston produces surprising recoil and the sound was like that of a .22 short. I looked at my paper target and there was a hole almost dead center in the bullseye. I shot several more times and had the same results. Very impressive.However, the scope does not withstand the recoil and needs constant adjusting. Just one downside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ckiser from Extremely powerful This is almost as powerful as a 22 LR. The pellets are moving so fast that it makes a sonic crack and has as much report as a 22 short. Buried the pellet into 4x4 treated posts at 50 feet with the force of a 9 pound hammer!!! You can definitely hunt with this rifle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gmog1953 from Ruger .22 Cal. Air Magnum Yes, this is a heavy rifle. I have only shot it once or twice. Has a recoil like a 20 gauge shotgun. So, I cannot attest to it's impact power. But, I wouldn't want to be facing the business end of this rifle within 100-200 yards. Have not installed the included 4X scope, need to run some ammo through it until it settles down and gets broken in. So far I am very pleased with this rifle, and hope to have years of service from what I consider to be a valuable rifle. Thanks Sportsman's guide, a good price on a great product. GLM

Rated 4 out of 5 by BENJAMIN from This air rifle is as long as my M27 Mosin!! HUGE. Much bigger and heavier than I expected. I haven't sighted in the scope yet, but the fire sights were only a click off of dead on with daisy flathead pellets. It's no RWS, but a good buy for the price. Does not shoot Daisy pointed pellets well.
