Rated 5 out of 5 by Big Shooter from Great Deal! Great price at Sportsman's Guide. Plus the $100 dollar rebate from Marlin. Could not pass up. Got rifle looks as if Marlin quality is back! Shoot great! Great rifle, glad to have in my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ldp4570 Leighton from Artillery!! I already owned her big sister the 1895SS, and have used her to hunt just about everything with four legs. When the GG or Guide Gun came out I waited several years before purchasing one. Once they were out in stainless steel with a full length magazine tube I just had to add one to the stable. Except for her big sister she is one of the finest large bore rifle's I have ever owned or shot. Except for long range shooting she does it all. Inside of 250yds an with a long eye relief scope 3X6X32 she is very, very deadly. Without scope she has excellent sights, smooth action, and a great feel. This rifle along with a stainless steel revolver in .357 magnum or larger caliber i.e. Ruger GP-100 or Redhawk, and you'd be set, "firearms wise" for just about anything from hunting to survival, and never doubt that you had enough gun. You just couldn't go wrong with her. If your on the fence about this one go ahead and get her, you'll thank yourself later!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by little marlin from very happy Very happy with the quality of this little monster. The wood and steel appear high quality and for a mass production gun, I'm impressed. Shot 2 boxes of Hornandy 325 grain rounds and the kick is substantial but not too bad for now. Excellent accuracy with the iron sites, love the ghost ring. The action is ridiculously smooth for a new gun. I was concerned that perhaps it would need a lot of usage to get the lever to move well, however, that was not necessary. This gun feels like it was used for 500 rounds already given the easy smooth movement of the lever and bolt. The only downside so far is this: It's difficult to load the five rounds through the loading gate. This may be due to the rifle being new and needing more lubrication and usage to make the loading more efficient. Time will tell.In short, I love this gun. I would have no qualms taking this to the bush and to defend myself against big game.

As everyone knows the quality of Marlin firearms took a big hit when Remington assumed production. My most recent purchase showed a bit of improvement in the quality control. The caliber and gun itself is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jimmydaworm from Great rifle, Great price! I've been looking at this rifle for a long time, and SG had it for more than $100 less than anyone else! When you add in the 4 pay option, I couldn't pass it up. Ordering was easy, and it arrived at my FFL in three days. Took it to the range, and shot 1.5" groups at 25, 50, and 100 yards with open sjghts. I love this gun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wied from Great perfomance SG delivered quickly. Rifle in brand new condition. Performance at range flawless. Used Hornady 325 grain LeveRevolution cartridges to sight in. Balance of rifle is wonderful, accuracy great, and recoil fine. I am not normally too concerned with aesthetics but the checkering on the grip portion of the stock exposed bare wood. For-end checkering was fine and coloring matches the laminate. The checkering anomaly is the only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars..
