Get a deeper understanding of what's below the ice with the ICE HELIX® Series G2 Sonar Fish Finder. You'll get exclusive features you won't find anywhere else. A crystal-clear, Dual Spectrum CHIRP Digital Sonar. Unprecedented viewing options built specifically for the ice angler. Built-in GPS with Humminbird® Basemap. Plus, Interference Rejection settings. You'll watch it all take shape on a full-color, 5" HD LCD display.
Dual Spectrum CHIRP Digital Sonar lets you view details that other forms of sonar won't show you. You'll see individual fish, clearly identify bait and structure, and reach greater depths and range. Get high-resolution returns in both flasher and traditional 2D sonar views. And the ICE HELIX G2 comes equipped with the XI 9 1521 Dual Spectrum CHIRP ICE Transducer that operates at 130-250 kHz and covers 15-21° on the bottom. The ICE HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS G2 works with all compatible HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS transducers. So once the ice thaws, you can seamlessly transfer your ICE HELIX to your boat for summer fishing, using an optional transducer. Simply install an accessory transducer on your boat, and change your settings to "Open Water" mode. The year-round capability lets you make the most of your time on the water. That's full integration for total domination.
What's all the CHIRP about?
Unlike traditional sonar, which operates at a single, constant frequency, CHIRP optimizes pulsing sonar signals for greater target separation. With CHIRP, ice anglers can now confidently see the separation between the bottom, bait and fish on the screen—instead of all three blending into one color on their locator or flasher. This is critical in ice fishing when most fish species are hugging the bottom. Being able to discern your lure from the lake bottom can be the difference between going home empty-handed, or with your limit.
Mapping your way to success
Based on freshwater data from LakeMaster and NOAA, built-in Humminbird Basemap provides you with a clear view of underwater terrain. Identify buoys, daymarkers, hazards, marinas, points of interest, and countless navigation aids with the comprehensive icon system. You’ll also see contours, depth markings and, for coastal areas, spot soundings. And you'll have instant access to charts of more than 10,000 lakes. And now with AutoChart LiveTM (for open-water application only), you can build richly detailed maps of your favorite fishing spots in real time. Map the water as you drive the boat, with 8 hours of built-in recording time. Once your map is live, view it with vegetation, bottom hardness and depth contours to locate the best fish-holding areas. And access those maps any time of the year when you're back at your previously mapped hot spot.
