Our Lace-to-Toe Boots feature choice full-grain leather, put together with reliable, repairable Goodyear welt construction. The bobbed outsole delivers sure footing on loose terrain, and the lace-to-toe style makes for a custom fit that won’t put the pinch on you, should your feet be a little on the meaty side. So whether you’re trudging through brushy creekbottoms in search of grouse, traversing soggy cornfields for last late-season pheasants, or walking the foothills in search of mulies…these deliver!
If the boot fits…wear it.
Not all feet are created equal. Some guys need a little more room to accommodate their meaty stompers. Regular lace-up boots can feel tight, confining and uncomfortable. But the smart, lace-to-toe design of these Boots means you don't have to stuff your feet into a pre-molded compartment meant for slender-footed gents. You'll feel the difference. And you'll love it.
Goodyear Welt construction: the ONLY way to build a boot.
Goodyear Welt construction is the oldest and most reliable construction method, delivering a boot that's flexible, durable, and easily repairable.
So how does it work? In short, a strip of firm leather (called the welt) is stitched to the leather upper, and then the outsole is stitched to the welt. The welt acts as a sort of "anchor layer" for the stitching that binds the boot together. Goodyear welt construction provides solid footing, flexibility, and allows the outsole to be replaced, effectively lengthening the life of the boot.
