Geissele® Triggers are precision-made in the USA to help you squeeze more accuracy and better performance out of your rifle. Designed to dominate long-range shooting competitions, the Hi-Speed National Match Trigger is fully adjustable for pull weight, sear engagement, and over-travel. It comes with 3 spring sets—Service Rifle, Designated Marksman, and Match—making it exceptionally versatile to suit your needs.
The Service Rifle spring set is designed NRA High Power Service Rifle competition. Service Rifle competitions require military-based weapons to meet certain criteria, one of which is a minimum trigger pull weight of 4.5 lbs. The Service Rifle spring set includes Geissele's 5-coil trigger spring, which provides a nominal 4-lb. pull on the first stage and an incredibly light second stage with an icicle-sharp break.
The Designated Marksman Rifle spring set is designed for tactical and military shooting where trigger pull weight is not regulated. Perfect for all precision tactical shooting, the higher second-stage weight helps in high-stress shooting situations.
The Match Rifle spring set is designed for NRA High Power Rifle Competition with highly modified AR-15 space guns. With very few restrictions, these highly customized semi-automatic weapons are intended to produce extreme accuracy at long ranges. Trigger pull weight can be adjusted to extremely low levels to push weapon control to new heights. The Match Rifle spring set features an ultra-fast lock time, and uses a full-power hammer spring to impart more energy into the firing pin, producing much more consistent primer ignition—especially with experimental cartridges or AR-10 based weapons.
More on the Mechanics
Geissele uses the most sophisticated manufacturing methods to deliver a truly outstanding trigger pull. All sear surfaces are precisely cut by a wire EDM machine, which leaves a non-directional surface finish for a smooth trigger pull without the associated grittiness normally left by milling machines. The initial force needed to start the disengagement of the sear surfaces is low, and the force increases linearly at a low rate. This helps the hammer to fall at the desired point of aim and builds shooter confidence in the weapon’s ability to place rounds on the point of aim.
A full force hammer spring is used for quick lock-time and positive ignition of all ammunition types. No lightened hammer spring is used. The hammer itself is lighter than a standard AR-15 hammer, further decreasing lock-time and increasing accuracy of the weapon. The net effect is greater accuracy and precision while shooting on the move, shooting with the weapon in movement, and during increased cadences of fire.
