FN America® FN 509^TM Compact Tactical FDE 9mm Semi-automatic Pistol

Developed for the US Military's Modular Handgun System Competition—and backed by over 1 million rounds of testing in the most demanding conditions—the FN 509 represents the pinnacle of the combat pistol. It's built on the proven architecture of the FNS^TM Compact, but every aspect—both internal and external—was scrutinized and analyzed to enhance ergonomics, ammunition compatibility, and—above all—reliability.

The 509 Compact Tactical takes the proven performance and shrinks it down to a concealed carry-friendly size. It starts with the 4.32" cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel, threaded to accept a suppressor. The luminescent night sights have been raised to clear an attached suppressor, and provide an excellent low-light targeting option. If you'd prefer a mini red dot, the Low-Profile Optics Mounting System^TM accommodates more than 10 popular red dots with no milling necessary. The slide cap, for use when not shooting with an optic, has raised sight wings that protect sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or jostled, and provides a textured ramp for racking the slide against a belt loop, pant pocket or boot.

Both the slide and barrel geometry have been improved to help lower the bore axis: recoil travels straight into the meat of your hand, where you can best control it, keeping the muzzle on-target for fast follow-up shots. For durability's sake, the 509 Compact Tactical was outfitted with a captive double-nested recoil spring to reduce wear and enhance what was already a very long expected service life.

The bottom line is this: the FN 509 Compact Tactical shoots like a dream, eats any ammo you throw at it, and keeps running in the worst conditions imaginable. With the included 12- or 15-round mag, it's a perfect CCW. With the included 24-round mag, it's basically a battle pistol. So you get terrific versatility, too.
