Rated 5 out of 5 by Jack N4TRR from Great fire starterI keep a plastic sandwich bag with lint from the clothes dryer. No more that 3 strikes, and you have fire.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fguy from good product at a good priceThe instruction are lacking. I already knew how to use it so okay. I only used the the black rod to product spark to my Vaseline impregnated cotton ball. Two tries and fire! Didn't rate it 5 stars because of the instructions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tony from Price was goodThey work great with a pocket knife, but it’s much more difficult to get a spark with the metal piece provided.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OFBG from Great item at a great price!I have purchased this item several times over the years as I keep needing more! At the SPG price I can put one wherever I think I need it rather than moving one or two higher-priced tools from place to place. Each of the survival kits in our vehicles has one, as do each of our small daypacks, larger camping backpacks, and hunting packs. A couple at home "just in case," and they make great stocking-stuffers for my outdoorsy friends and relatives. The reason for the "good" rather than "excellent" rating is that they take a bit of work to use the first few times. The attached striker has a hard time cutting through the coating on the rod, but a sharp knife blade will do it. After some of the rod has been scraped clean it's okay. This could be frustrating, if not worse, if your first use were in a survival situation.
