FIME Arex Defense Rex Zero 1 9mm Semi-automatic Pistol
You might not have head of Arex Defense before, but they have a robust history producing weapons and ammo for some of Europe's premier defense agencies. In fact, over 50% of everything Arex makes goes directly to the militaries and defense contractors that keep Europe safe.
Which brings us to the Rex Zero 1. If it looks familiar to you, it should. The Zero 1 traces its lineage to the legendary CZ 75, right down to the Browning linkless cam locking system. The aluminum grip frame boasts the same gentle curvature that fits your hand so nicely, and the slide rides just as low as it does in the 75, ensuring that recoil energy is directed straight backwards into the meat of your hand. But it's not a straight-up clone. The Rex Zero 1 features more pronounced slide serrations, which helps with racking the slide (one of the few weaknesses of the 75 & 75 P-01), and features more slots on the underside rail.
In the era of the polymer striker-fired pistol, the Rex Zero 1 is a bit of a unicorn, and that's what we here at The Guide love so much about it. There just aren't that many metal-framed, hammer-fired pistols coming through our doors. So when we DO find a pistol that meets that criteria—especially one that's as soft-shooting and perfectly balanced as the Rex Zero 1—we think it's pretty special.
