Rated 5 out of 5 by Accuracy from 5 shots 5 deerHunting in marthas vineyard i needed a reliable slug that would be accurate over 50 yds. I had 2 buck tags and 6 doe tags. I used them all. All deer dropped immediately, not even a step. Closest was 15 yards, furthest was 65 yds. Absolutely the best shotgun ammo i have ever shot. Below are my bucks, one of whick was 65 yards away. In used the 3” slugs out of my Beretta A300 Xtrema

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jwatts1649 from Exceptional performanceI have always wanted to deer hunt with a shotgun, and this year I finally made it happen. I first started with my Remington 870 express wth a fully rifled barrel and tried multiple sabot slugs and was not impressed by any. That is when I decided to use my smooth bore barrel on the same shotgun. I zeroed at 50 yards because that is the max distance I would be shooting here in mid Missouri on my land due to the thick brush. Using the Federal Truball 2 3/4" hollow point rifled slugs, I grouped 3 shots all in the bullseye and touching each other. Two days later, I shot a 140 pound doe at 45 yards. She jumped and ran into the brush. After an hour, I went to look for her and she had only gone 15 yards. I recovered part of the slug and the truball. I will only use Federal Truball rifled slugs from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shotgun from I can hold 2" groups at 85 yds with this ammo (tru ball slug) in my 870 turkey gun w/ speedbead holographic sight. This is the best price I have seen for this ammo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CLM1117 from Benelli Super 90 and this slugI'm shooting this slug 2'' high at 50 yards and dead on at a hundred. I'd feel confident out to 110 knowing how it powers down so quickly afterwards.I'm grouping at 3" at a hundred and am more than satisfied with that. Took me a number of slugs until I found this one. The images below show today's double check before gun season.I'd say try it! Your mileage may vary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kelley W from Nice setup! The design of the truball system allows the slug to stay less deformed as it travels down the barrel and is squeezed out of the barrel's crown. In addition, the truball system also keeps the actual slug aligned better for a more controlled flight pattern. I tried these slugs out of a Remington 18 inch police barrel with a fixed IC choke and rifled sights. At 40 yards off hand, I achieved 3 inch groups. The shotgun had a trigger job done breaking at 3.5 pounds making the testing even more accurate. Recoil is not too bad and very tolerable. Yes, these slugs are among one of the cheapest in their class and will get the job on whitetails if you need meat in the freezer this season.
