Rated 5 out of 5 by Basher1actual from Incredible ammoI have carried this round for many years. I have never had one fail to make a loud boom with I pull the trigger and it makes holes you can stick your arm through cleanly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jakey_boy from Time Tested and ProvenI've carried this round for two decades in my Sig P220 and now in my Glock 30S. This cartridge has been getting it done for LEOs and self-defense carriers for many years. I will always trust my life on it because Federal/ATK has the best quality control of all the manufacturers. Oh, and by the way, if your Springfield XD or XDS ain't working, it isn't because of this ammunition. Get rid of that "almostaglock" and get a Sig or a Glock. There's a reason that they dominate the LEO and military markets and Springfield doesn't, but I'll let you figure out why on your own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrSluggo from One GREAT ammoHydra-Shok ammo has been around for a while, long enough perhaps to be considered "Old School". That may be true but I will say this for them: they are consistent, accurate, and potent. We went to the unsupervised range last week and shot quite a lot of ammo through a number of guns. This isn't a Hi-Point pistol review, but let me say this: The ..45's JHP's were taken out of the box and inspected. No maintenance was performed. My son and I fired several hundred rounds of cheaper wadcutter and round nose ammo. We did initially experience a couple of failure to feeds. I attribute that to our developing a proper grip on the JHP's which, when we finally had that smoothed out, had no further failures. We then broke out the Hyrdra-Shoks. These aren't the most inexpensive rounds to be sure so we figured on firing a couple of magazines each which is about 2 boxes. Fired from 20 feet, 25 yards, and wound up firing at about 40 yards "just to see".Smooth consistent and accurate for a couple of .45 acp rookies at the closer distances. We each had 1 failure to feed but it should be noted that this was after hundreds of rounds between the two pistols, Hi-Points at that. For those of you who have "real" pistols, I would think that you would be pleased with their performance. If they can work out of a couple of JHP's, they should work well out of your gun. : ' )BTW: when we got home, we did disassemble the JHP's for cleaning and lubing.
