Federal Power-Shok, 8mm Mauser, SP, 170 Grain, 20 Rounds is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fissel from Lighter than rated, but accurate & adequate. From my 24" barrel Husqvarna sporter I'm getting a muzzle velocity of just 2129fps averaged over the entire box. This figure falls somewhat short of the box rating, despite my full length barrel. That said accuracy was quite good and the performance is still adequate for whitetails & boars out to about 225 yards.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jean from The useless 8x57 Mauser 170 grainerIf I ever purchase a box of 170 gr. 8 mm Mauser it would be strictly to recover the brass. The SAAMI and the majority of the US ammo makers have a problem with the 8x57S.Instead of producing useless junk, they should get back to basics and instruct their customers once forever about their responsibility to properly identify -their rifle'd caliber.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WHS1950 from The 8mm Mauser ammo has performed well in my gun.I've run quite a number of boxes of Federal Premium through my rifle. I've had no misfires, and all were fairly consistent on target. Generally, I've been able to get 3-shot groups under 2", some 4-shot groups occasionally do the same @ 110 (just happens to be the convenient shooting setup). I would only use them on deer-sized game or smaller, being a fairly conservative load in the power department.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lorenzo from Lower recoil 8mm Mauser loadThe 8mm Mauser is a potent, high pressure cartridge in standard military loads and many target/hunting loads. These standard loads also kick. But I don't generally shoot beyond 200-250 yards with my old surplus Mauser rifle and less recoil is welcomed. This lower velocity 8mm load performs close to the .30-30 round but this 8mm round uses a more efficient bullet. In fact this loading almost duplicates the old Winchester 32 Special, a variant of the .30-30 cartridge but with more power at close range. Knowing it's limitations, this ammunition is perfectly acceptable for my needs. If I want to shoot at long range then I'll use a different load. This ammunition is expensive but past experience shows complete reliability and good accuracy. That's why it gets four stars. The cost is reduced when using the free shipping coupon code as well as Sportsman's Guide Credit card rewards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mij90 from Yugo Mauser M48I sighted cartridge in at 3.5 inches at 100 yards. It consistently shot on target at 200 yards. This would provide enough energy to handle a trophy deer. Very pleased with the results. I would recommend this for Yugo M48. Good choice for 8mm mauser rifles. I suggest purchasing a slip on version of limb saver to absorb recoil from metal cap at the end of the butt stock.
