Rated 5 out of 5 by BlueHen from Very Pleased!I have a 1970s-era Remington 700 in 7mm Rem Mag and found that the 175 Grain Powershok ammo shot into sub-MOA groups consistently (no other ammo I tried would do that in this rifle). I was a little nervous taking this "non-premium priced" ammo to Africa, but the rifle has great personal meaning too me and the consistent accuracy of the Powershok was too good to ignore. I shot three African animals with this ammo: (1) a huge kudu bull at over 275 yards, (2) a red hartebeest bull at 230 yards, and (3) an impala bull at 240 yards. All were one shot kills with complete pass throughs, leaving quarter-sized exit holes, proving that the bullets held together very well. If it will pass through a very large kudu bull, it should do the same on elk-sized game. I see no reason to put anything else through this rifle. Great ammo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grumpybear from have never needed another round 175grshot several elk none ever moved more than 50 feet away one dropped in its tracks. The deer I have shot have always gone straight down. I am having problems finding the 175 gr.

Rated 5 out of 5 by larry from Great price, excelent ammoI have been looking for this specific ammo for several years as I have found it superior to the many more expensive ammo's available. It has great penetration (usually passes fully through) & stopping power for deer, elk, or bear, & expands nicely while retaining it's weight. No need to pay for the pricey stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LWilson from Best of the bestI shoot a Browning in 7 mm RM & I have tried a lot of different ammo over the years. With Federal I started out with the 175gr. because of the inexpence, but quickly learned it was also deadly accurate & a real stopper. Then when they came out with the Premium with 160gr. in Nosler Partition I switched to it, it is great, but got to expensive. So I started looking around, pretty much everything I found was to light or not all that accurate in my rifle. I switched back to the 175 gr & will stick with it as long as I hunt because it works like no other will. My only complaint is that of late it is getting harder to find as it always seems to be sold out. I see you are now making 175 gr available in your Fusion ammo but I am holding out for the real deal. Power Shok rules!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frogman from 160 Gr. Deer Thugs ammoI can't understand why Federal doesn't show the ballistics and bullet drop on the new Power Shok 160 Gr. Deer Thugs ammo that is out on the market? I have used it and I like it very much!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cinny from Hits a Ton!I am a traditionalist I suppose. I have hunted elk here in western Montana all my life being blessed to be born and raised on a ranch here, starting hunting 33 years ago. After 16 bulls, and 9 cows/calves, and too many mule deer and a few whitetails, I have had the chance to try several bullets. My friends have too. You know what we always come back too? The old school soft points. Why? Because they flat work. They are not fancy, and you can't slide them down the bar and get all the owoos and awwes that the new boutique bullets get but they work. I started with Remington Core-Lokt 175 gr in my 7mm Mag years ago. I have tried several bullets, weights and tips. I always seem to end up back at the 175 gr. Then a few years ago, I had noticed some issues with the QA from the Remington Core-Lokt.I started looking for a replacement. After some serious target punching, I discovered these. They grouped as well as any other bullet that I was trying. In fact, better than most. Changed over to them last year. Took a cow through the front shoulder, quartering at me shot. Caved in like stack of cards at 175 yards. This year, a smaller bull, 4x5 young bull, standing broadside at 300 yards. Solid hit, walked about three steps and fell over. Internal damage was perfect. My oldest son hit his 4x4 point mule deer at 200 yd, a little higher in the lungs, and the exit wound was impressive. He never knew what hit him. What am I getting at? You can spend what ever you think you need too in the latest and greatest, but the time tested soft-point set the bar high for many years for a reason. It works just fine. Not a lot of need to really compare tons of specs and gel videos. You can trust that these will work period. Then you can find something else that you can spend all the money you save on the "newest" fancy cartridge on something more important. Like gas! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by BIGTAZ from First Deer, wall hanger.I have a Win. model 70/Weaver V10 in 7mm Mag. I bought the gun in 2006 and have used this ammo since day one, I hunted for 2 more years (2008) before I got my first Whitetail Deer (My first of any kind), I got him in the shoulder and the power of this ammo was amazing, The projectile stayed together, the processor swore it had to have been a Trophy-bonded for as tough it was! The shoulder was broke and it took care of his lungs too...11 points, and He's on the wall! This Power-Shok® ammo works good even when the shot wasn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by roritch from Quality ammo at a great priceI bought a new TC Venture in 7mm mag and purchased a couple boxes of ammo to test with. The Federal Power Shock ammo proved to be the right choice when I shot a five shot group at one hundred yards I could cover with a dime. I repeated sub MOA groups with the Power Shock ammo. I will shoot Federal ammo from now on.
