The new Hyper Drive design is comprised of 4 key technologies: Hyper Drive Digigear,^TM Hyper Double Support, Hyper Armed Housing and Hyper Tough Clutch. Brand-new Hyper Drive Digigear makes the teeth of the gears more efficient at transferring power for a smoother and more powerful gear set. Two-bearing Hyper Double Support system for the Reel's pinion gear means no flex, leading to ultra-smooth retrieves and gear rotation.

The Reel features an aluminum frame and sideplate for maximum rigidity and precision performance. And redesigned, reinforced Hyper Tough Clutch increases durability and performance. This tough Baitcasting Reel also features the UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag) system, which includes impregnated drag discs that are about 30X more durable than typical discs, considerably increasing the effective drag power while reducing start-up resistance.
