The buttons on this Jacket tell a story.
The British Army uses an interesting and unique method of easily distinguishing Foot Guard regiments. Buttons are spaced in groups of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. If buttons are grouped in pairs, for instance, it identifies the wearer as a member of the Coldstream Guards, a Foot Guard regiment established in Coldstream, Scotland back in 1650.
