Beretta Silver Pigeon I Sporting 12 Gauge Shotgun
Made specifically for left-handers. The Silver Pigeon I Sporting has all the functional features of any of Beretta's premium over-under competition shotguns, but it also features a very attractive price. The best-in-class 686 action is both low-profile and compact while being extremely strong. The light-weight barrels are constructed using both Optima-Bore and Optima-Choke technologies. These additions make sure the shotgun's point of balance is located directly at the hinge-pin. This gives you a lively feel and natural pointability you've rarely felt in a shotgun of this quality. But this shotgun isn't only function, the select-walnut stock and tasteful scroll engraving will turn heads at the range and garnish looks of jealousy from the other shooters.
LIKE A NATURAL EXTENSION OF YOUR ARM
A favorite among competition shooters and hunters, the legendary 686 action is the heart of the Silver Pigeon I Sporting. Because of the stress it's under with every shot, an over-under shotgun must have a strong locking mechanism so it does not pop open after each shot. Most shotguns us locking lug(s) at the top of the receiver. This makes it strong, but also taller and bulkier than is necessary. Beretta, instead, uses 2 conical locking lugs at mid-action, right between the barrels. These 2 lugs provide a vault-like strength while providing you with a lower profile. It gives you the advantage of having your eye closer to the plane of your supporting hand. This provides you with a better swing and hand-eye coordination to smash those clays.
DURABILITY FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION
As your number of shots goes up into the tens-of-thousands, the conical lugs will adjust by setting themselves slightly deeper into the barrel unit. This is another advantage to the Silver Pigeon. The lugs can "self-adjust" without compromising the strength of your shotgun or shot. The Silver Pigeon Sporting can stand up to years of enjoyment and can be based down to generation after generation.
FLAWLESS FIT AND FINISH
It isn't only function, the Silver Pigeon has the outstanding elegance you've come to expect from Beretta. The Schnabel forend adds to the classic flair of this over-under, while the oil-finished stock checkered pattern adds beauty to this powerhouse. The geometric scroll-engraved pattern on the receiver adds a layer of interest, while emphasizing the shotguns graceful line. It has all the eloquence of an heirloom, without having you take out a second mortgage.
