This compact, portable pontoon-style Boat is the perfect way for 2 fishermen to navigate shallow water, negotiate narrow channels, fish gas-restricted lakes and more. I am into my second year with this boat and I absolutely love this boat whether by myself or with someone else it is stable and accommodates all the features you want to hunt fish. I just talked my nephew into buying one so we can fish together in his state.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ricky from Great little boat I just got my Basshunter Bass Baby about a month ago. Its what i was looking for in a nice fishing boat. You don't need a gas powered motor for this one. I use a 40lb. Thrust Minn Kota which has great power and moves you right along. My marine battery last all day of fishing.Its not the size of boat that catches the fish. This size of boat can get you into the honey holes where the big lunkers live in. Get yourself one you'll love it. Just like I do mine.

The boat is stable, it handled me, my brother, trolling motor, battery, and all our fishing gear with no problems at all. I have used a small Arlington Bass Bandit for over 10 years and this Bass Hunter Bass Baby in my opinion is even better. The Bass Baby fits nicely in the back of my Toyota Tacoma pick-up. The wheels make it easy for one person to move the boat around. If you are like me and can not afford a big motor boat, or if you want a quality small boat to get to the spots where larger boats can't, buy a Bass Hunter boat, you will not be disaponted.

I fish it solo with a Minn Kota Endura MAX 40 on the back and it gets me into all the shallow slop spots on my favorite lakes. Plenty room for my 3 poles, tackle, cooler, kayak paddle (just in case) and battery. I love this boat and named her "BASS BUGG". If you see me on the water say hello...

Rated 5 out of 5 by SwampDonkey from Great little bass boat Love the footprint of this little 4x8 boat. Tiny but stable and light enough for 1 person to load and unload from a truck. I use a garage gator electric hoist system (pictured) to keep the boat in my garage, yet out of the way....you don't want to store these plastic boats outside, especially in Texas. The stock seats should be replaced, but you can get good fold-down cushioned seats at academy for $25 ea (pictured). This was the best price I found on the internet, and SG customer service has been helpful. I only have 2 minor complaints - packaging and shipping from the manufacturer - boat ships in one package (very minimal protection - wheels and seats ship separately with also minimal protection). I was not able to track the second package that arrived several days late, which led to some confusion and a few calls to customer care. The second complaint is either the manufacturer or SG should include a signed receipt with the shipment. In Texas this is a requirement for registration. They let me slide at the registration office with just the M.S.O. and the emailed invoice....but got the impression they were just in a good mood and could have required I get SG to fax in a signed receipt. In addition to what's pictured, I've added a 45# thrust trolling motor (also purchased through SG) and several scotty side mounts with rod holders. I've only had her out once by myself and the boat / motor performed great on a small lake that doesn't allow gas motors. You can easily stand up and fish, move around in this boat without tipping it. The 45# thrust motor pushes the boat with ease. I motored for 2-3 hours and only used 1/3 of my battery, so I think this is the ideal setup for the weekend warrior that wants to fish the smaller lakes, ponds, creeks and rivers.

I even contacted the manufacturer that I thought was 25 miles from me, to find out all boats are manufactured in Mississippi. Ordered boat from Sportsman's Guide, great experience, extra quick delivery time. Boat works as advertised. Best money I spent in a long time. This boat will go in places that I have never been able to go. Love it!
