For durability, the Ares G2 features a tough full-metal chassis is waterproof, fogproof and argon-purged to prevent internal fogging and thermal instability. The lenses are treated externally with an XPL coating that protects against dirt, oil and grime.

And as a nice bonus, the interchangeable eyepiece allows you to swap the standard variable-power eyepiece with a fixed 22-power eyepiece (sold separately) with a MIL ranging reticle for long-range and tactical applications.
