It was about what I had expected. I had my 5 year old grandson help me assemble it. I was disappointed that one of the hinges broke and needed to be replaced.

Nice design, a tad cheezy on the hardware and finish, wait for the sale price. Still a cute little chair and handy stool.

The item is as described, but the quality of the wood and hardware to assemble is of poor quality. The one hinge was very hard to operate and when I made it move the pin holding the two halves of the hinge together fell out - I managed to reassemble the hinge and make it usable. One of the holes in the wood for assembly stripped out very easily and I repaired that by inserting a toothpick in the hole and breaking it off flush with the top of the hole and the screw then was able to be tightened.

The chairs is made out of solid wood, but it's not a strong wood to say the least. I don't feel as if this chair will last very long with regular use. I have very high cabinets in my kitchen and need step stool often. This is what I was looking for, just a little stronger would be nice. I guess you get what you pay for.
