Details & Specs

Vortex® Viper 15 - 45x65mm Angled Spotting Scope. This WATERPROOF and fogproof baby has your name on it.

Meet your challenge with confidence! Scope is equipped with an eye strain-minimizing angled eyepiece mount layout that's ideal for spotting hiding animals, or those hanging out in treetops. Angled design also allows an overall lower mounting height, which maximizes stability in wind, offers greater comfort when glassing for extended periods, and permits the use of a smaller, lighter tripod.

Vortex® proprietary XR anti-reflective coatings join forces with extra-low dispersion (XD) glass for impressive resolution, color fidelity and maximum brightness. Waterproof, argon-filled and fogproof, with porro prism for crystal-clear images. Dual focus for precision. ArmorTrek ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coating protects exterior lenses from scratches, oil and dirt. Rotating tripod ring lets you turn the eyepiece sideways for ultimate viewing on a car window mount. Compact, too, for easy carrying and storage. Includes eyepiece cap, objective lens cover, built-in Picatinny rail and custom-fitted case.

Bright, crisp, sharp:
  • 65mm objective lens
  • Lens features XR anti-reflective coating, fully multi-coated on all air-to-glass surfaces, which increases light transmission for maximum brightness
  • Porro prism for maximum image quality and performance in a traditional design
  • Waterproof and fogproof
  • Twist eyecup twists up and down for comfortable viewing with or without eyeglasses
  • Dual focus for maximum focusing precision with both coarse and fine focus adjustments
  • Sunshade reduces glare and shields objective lens from raindrops and snow
  • Rotating tripod ring allows eyepiece rotation to sideways position... most useful for viewing through an angled spotting scope body on a car window mount
  • Built-in Picatinny accessory rail allows easy attachment of red dot type sights
  • 18mm eye relief
  • View angle: 2.7°-1.2°
  • F.O.V. @ 1,000 yards is 140' at 15X, 65' at 45X
  • 15 4/ 5 ", 51 ozs.

Seeing Deer

I was pleased as punch to have been invited to hunt an exclusive archery hunting lease in Ohio. However, I battled frustration -- my binoculars were simply not good enough in low light! On a different hunt, the hunting lodge owner in Mississippi polled the hunters to see how many deer they had seen and what those deer had been doing. While others had seen nothing, because of my good binoculars I had seen 10!
