Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well, it's definitely a steel helmet. We won't be testing it against any shrapnel hopefully anytime soon. It was a gift and the recipient loves it. The inside head gear is a little uncomfortable, but I think we can work with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The helmet was pretty much new.I needed to wipe it down and let it air out.Its a 1957 vintage russian cold war helmet wrapped in treated paper.Would I buy another one.Yes,without hesitation. Its worth the money in this condition. The paint looks fresh and the inside is new.One of my favorites in my collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The helmet I received was made at the Stalingrad Tractor Factory in 1957 and was wrapped in the factory waxed paper. It is a very nice 54 year old version of the Russian SSh-40 helmet, but is not what I would consider a Soviet WWII helmet having been produced 12 years after the war ended. My SSh-40 is in near mint condition and is a very nice Soviet Cold War era Russian helmet with direct ties to WWII. Thank You Sportsman's Guide, Victor Ramona,CA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice helmet. The one I received was new and unissued, but appears to be post war manufacture.
