Rated 1 out of 5 by from RUSTY OLD CAN........... Pictures tell the story, this should not have been shipped out in this condition...... Decided not to return... Too much trouble to re-package and take into town to Fed-X .... Will clean up and paint and straighten the latch so it works.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Used Ammo Can Was pretty rough. Needed cleaning and paint. At least they weren't bent. Wish I had bought the new cans.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basically sound but one big corner edge ding with rust and some rust in seams I've slowly assembled a handful or more of these and I trust US steel more than the "new" Chinese counterpart. Expected surface rust, this was a little more than surface. One big ding in middle of side corner edge, close to through, but I think not--didn't do a water test. Rust along bottom seam welds, along top and side seams holding top in place. And some type of liquid spill that cleaned off. Cleaned it up with a Teflon pad and some rust remained. I think it will be okay, but it will take some PBS, not paint touch up, as the rust seems to be slightly inside and under the bottom welds. Top hard to get off, very clean inside except one bare metal spot--perhaps touched up? Lid lifted nice and easily once I did get it open. Looks functional; if there is a leak in the edge ding, a bit of a Dremmel touch up followed by a dab of epoxy will fix it. overall not as nice as most of the others I've bought, but that's the luck of the draw--it is functional and this time I got one with rust. Reason for rating of 3 is the rust was more than simple surface and the dink was a pretty good one, deep, cracked paint, showed rust. Good yes, very good, no. But lots better than plastic for weight and waterproof gasket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for a car kit Got this to pack full of survival gear and to hold my pistol when I am driving as I am lacking a CPL. It cam quickly and in pretty fair condition, the seal is solid with no cracks and will remain as such if I do my part, there are no dents or damage ether. There was some dirt on the outside and some spray paint, nothing that cant be wiped off and painted over. It is marked 5.56 but there is no doubt it is 50 cal. Overall I think all preppers should have a few of these and SG is were I would look first.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 50 Cal Ammo Can Was the standard issue cans with a bit of rust and alot of mud across the tops, nothing a little wash with the hose wouldn't fix. Seals seemed intake and not dry or cracked.
