Rated 5 out of 5 by from just what i was looking for i'd been searching for a small shovel to use in the barbeque and this is it! with the wood handle removed, it's easy to move coals around or scoop them into my chimney for lighting. with the handle installed, it's great for chipping off cooked-on crud in the barbeque bowl. liked it so much, i bought a second one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swiss Snow and Avalanche Rescue Shovel. This is the real deal. Its a genuine sturdy, compact, packable, aluminum-bladed mountaineering snow shovel (about the size of an entrenchment tool). Its primary use is for snow shelter construction and avalanche rescue. I use mine when I instruct igloo and snow shelter building workshops throughout New England. It is as good or better than the modern (and expensive) ones sold by the mountaineering specialty shops.
