Rated 1 out of 5 by from If there was a less than one star rating I would give it. I saw this item in one of the SG sale emails. Great price! I am always on the look-out for good 1911 magazines as they are so easy to damage in the action shooting sports. I jumped right on it, ordered 10. Big mistake! In the future I will ALWAYS check the reviews prior to ordering. My order arrived. Upon opening I discovered one magazine had disintegrated to component parts. I checked it out and the spot welds to secure the base plate were, well, not. There was a spot or two where it looked like a weld may have been attempted but they didn't work.I sent the bad magazine back, irritated that I had been sent something broken and was then expected to pay $6.50 shipping to do it.The next day I loaded five snap-cap dummy rounds in one of the magazines. It was creaky and stiff. The follower didn't want to slide down inside the magazine smoothly. I then tried to load the magazine into the weapon. A real Colt 1911 by the way. The magazine was not to specification in size and binding. A little extra force to seat it resulted in the base plate blowing off the bottom of the magazine and spewing parts and rounds all over the floor. The body of the magazine was difficult to remove from the magazine well.In an auto-loading pistol the quality of the magazine is all-important. These magazines are not only shoddy beyond belief, they are a hazard if someone uses them believing they will function. Now, (a bit late I find), I checked the reviews. This has been happening to customer after customer, the same exact problems for more than a year. One star after one star. I can't believe SG is still selling this junk. Don't they read their own customer reviews?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from absolute garbage!!!! absolute trash, bought two put one mag in each of two different 1911's, they went in with a little resistance but had to use a screwdriver to pry them out of the guns. surprised that sportsman's guide would sell such garbage of a product. not even worth sending them back they went straight to the trash. wish I had read the reviews before ordering.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from U.S. 1911 Blued 7-rd. Steel Mag when first receivedI tried all five in my 1911s {2}guns, they all fit very tight and had to be pulled out forcefully. Decided to try to load one with three rounds. Upon inserting the third round, the bottom of the Mag popped off. Could not get it back on. I returned all five.te

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What Junk - stay away. I ordered 4 of these magazines and was quite excited when they arrived. I have been tweaking my Kimber Classic Stainless Target and saw these as a way to help spend more time on the range. I was sadly disappointed. The mags arrived in an over sized box, filled with crumpled paper. Of the 4 mags two had already lost their bottom plate and the springs were hanging out. The other two barely fit in my Kimber. Very tight and tough to eject. Given that the other two had come apart I am hesitant to use or even load the remaining two. I bought two from Midway for about the same price; they arrived quickly, are much sturdier, fit and eject perfectly. I know where I am buying my shooting supplies from from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought two of these for my .45 1911. They functioned very poor, the rounds barely fit into them and it had constant malfunctions with these mags. It's been almost a year since I've bought them and today I remembered that I had them so I dug them out and started looking at one, I saw that one of the base plates was almost broken off so I gave it a little tap and it fell apart. I then discovered that these magazines were not plain with no marks as I first thought, but someone had flipped the baseplate to conceal that they are in fact MAGAZINES FOR .38 SUPER NOT .45 ACP. They are clearly marked as "Colt Super 38 Auto" It's no wonder they functioned poorly. They'd probably be fine as a 38 super mag since that's what they are but not what they're being sold as.
