17-Pc. WWII Emergency Coin Kit. SAVE BIG!

Unique and highly collectible! During WWII, copper and nickel were in high demand to meet the needs of the war effort, so in order to make coins during the war, the U.S. Mint changed the metals used to make pennies and nickels. And now, those authentic coins are here in this Kit!

The Steel Pennies are made of a steel alloy due to the military's need for copper. When the steel penny turned out to be unpopular with the general population, the next version of the penny was made from recycled brass shell casings. During the height of the war, the military needed nickel, so the Jefferson Nickel was made of 35% silver alloy. These are the only nickels ever made out of silver and are very valuable and highly collectible.

Complete your collection:

  • Three 1943 Steel Pennies, 1 each from the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints
  • Nine 1944-46 Artillery Shell Pennies, 1 from each mint for each year
  • Four 1942-45 Silver-alloy Nickels, 1 for each year
  • Includes a replica WWII First Aid Pouch which was standard issue to all soldiers
  • $1 from each Kit sold will go to the Wounded Warrior Project
