Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good in a 581 Series Mini 14 Was really hoping these would work in a polymer stocked, 581 series Mini 14.(New in 2012)The good:Mags locked in place easily.Cycled rounds by hand.Activated bolt lock when empty. No flashing or sharp edges that would keep bullets from feeding.I loaded them to capacity and left them for 5 days.Loaded both mags with a mixture of half steel cased ammo, half brass.(This gun shoots both types of ammo without issue using Ruger factory mags, old PMI mags, and ProMag 20rd mags.)The bad. Both mags jammed repeatedly at the range. They would try to double feed, or cycle without picking up a fresh round. This happened with steel and brass cased ammo. This is my second try with Gen 2 Tapco mags.I think I'm done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ordered 5, realy worked good but for old ruger mini 14's you need to take a fingernail file and round off the sharp edge of the front feed lips or the bolt catches when it opens. on old mini14's I have to do this even on ruger steel magazines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great These mags are working great so far. Much better than the generic metal mags. They insert and remove easily and feed with no problems. The hole in the front where it catches seems to be holding up well. I will be using these until Magpul (hopefully) decides to mfg some.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from piece of JUNK I tried and tried to make this work, but to no avail. I could fire 2 rounds, then it would jam. JUNK! All other after market mags work great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around magazine for the mini 14 Functions better than my factory magazines. Great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! I have tried several other brands of mini 14 magazines and they have all failed miserably. The Tapco generation 2 magazines work as well in my rifle as the original Ruger magazines!! My advice to anyone looking to get the best value in a mini 14 magazine is to save your time and money and just go with the Tapco brand. If not - be willing to spend big bucks and go with the Ruger brand magazines.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tapco mags (gen 2) with the metal over the mounting hole work very well and will last much longer I think than the gen 1 models.the ones I have, both gens feed well.
