No guesswork. No cumbersome measuring required! Somebody was thinking when it comes to gunsmithing. They created this handy Scope Mount Drill Jig... a must-have when drilling / tapping collectible rifles. Will work on Mausers, Mosin-Nagant, old Remingtons, Springfields and most Japanese rifles.

The secret? It precisely aligns holes with the bore, using a precision ground arbor inserted into the receiver in place of the bolt. This technology eliminates tedious measuring. Includes 6X48 tap and #31 drill bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ESP Years back I went to a machinist friend to make just such a device. He did not realize the need for exactness in mounting a scope. and I had make adjustments. Now I don't have to redo his work. This device is good but lacks on feature, multiple variations that exist between the many types of bases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works Can be used with a hand drill, still would recommend a drill press. Works as described, instructions are good. Also various you tube videos around that can help if you get stuck. Good product and still cheaper than a gunsmith that will charge $25-50 per hole!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not fit the Mosin Nagant I have one of these jigs. And it DOES NOT fit the Mosin Nagant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from price is good it is adequate, but you need to be extra careful lining the jig in the action to get it perfectly true. also, use the shortest bit possible as one of my screw holes was angled slightly due to drill bit flexing. I drilled for a long base and it fit okay and any imperfection will be taken out by the rear screw windage adjustment. A longer drill pilot would help.
