I'm very disappointed with this holster. It's as if the design is wrong. The gun is extremely difficult to draw. It is too tight and in order for the snap to be used, you have to push the gun down which extends the front sight beyond the holster causing the gun to snag. I'll be looking for another holster elsewhere.

Great Holster, but it is NOT a dark brown like all other items by this manufacturer, so it will not match the belts, mag holders, etc...can be stained however.
  3. Was hoping it would be darker in color like other Ruger equipment, but well made, fits well.
  4. I had already bought this holster ! verynice. dfs

Nothing like a Ruger holster for a Ruger pistol! Fit like a glove.

Ballistics Charts

Going to the woods or the range with the right ammunition will increase your odds of success! And it will make your experience a safer one! Use our ballistics tables below to find the velocity, trajectory, bullet weight, and more for your caliber and gun style.

Controlled-Feed Bolt-Action vs. Push-Feed

Some riflemen (of both sexes) claim a controlled-feed bolt-action is superior to a push-feed. They may be right. Or not. But you have to understand the mechanics of both actions to form an educated opinion of your own.

Rifling Twist Rates & Bullets

We all understand that a rifle barrel has spiral grooves (rifling) in order to impart spin to bullets. This stabilizes them so they fly true, like a well-thrown football. But what's all this talk about twist rates like 10-inch or 1-in 14? What's that all about and how important is it?

Have The Same Basic Action, Set-up For All Your Rifles

Part of the allure of shooting is the variety of rifles, actions, sights and cartridges. It's fun shooting a pump-action one day, a lever the next and an autoloader after that. It's a treat to plink with a .17 rimfire and get rocked by a 375 H&H Magnum. But it's not consistent training. There's a better option: build a system.

Shooting: Does Bullet Weight Matter?

As a new hunter it's a challenge deciding which of the many, confusing cartridges and calibers to buy. It's even more confusing when we're asked to choose ammunition. Does bullet weight really matter? Yes! And no. Well, maybe.
