Reviews
Ruger Refurbished Air .177 caliber Hawk Air Rifle is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal I purchased this rifle because it was refurbished, as I already own a Ruger Air Hawk Elite and could use for parts if ever needed. When this rifle arrived it was immaculate. You could not tell that it wasn't new. It shoots great and the price cannot be beat. I can tell you that it will not be a parts gun and I may never buy a new air rifle again if the refurbished one are all like new, and I think they are as I bought another refurbished one of a different brand at the same time and it also was like new. Thank you SG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better bought alone The Air Hawk is an entry grade .177 air rifle that feels and shoots like air rifles in a higher class of worksmanship.....eventually.This rifle will take some "breaking in" effort. The cocking mechanism is stiff but loosens up with cleaning, lubricating, and use. Speaking of cleaning, giving the barrel a good scrub is a must on any new air rifle. The Air Hawk is no exception. The open sights are plastic but functional and easily adjustable. I do wish the front sight had a protective hood as the fiber sight insert could be easily broken if one is careless when cocking the gun.The auto-safety is a very handy push knob affair on the rear of the receiver that favors right or left handed shooters. The two stage trigger is a delight if you grew up shooting the inexpensive pump gun offerings. There is a fairly long 1st stage that offers little resistance. The 2nd stage on my rifle has just a hint of creep but breaks easily at about 3 pounds. With a little practice, it is easy to become consistent with this rifle. The ambidextrous hardwood stock is plain, yet feels solid in the hands. There is enough heft in the gun to tame some of the spring recoil without being overly burdensome. To me, this air rifle feels as comfortable to shoulder as my 30-06. Oh, as a FYI, on a Refurbished gun, one will notice an "R" stamped into the receiver next to the serial number.I won't really comment to accuracy as I haven't mounted a scope yet. I am still in he break-in period and am just sending rounds downrange. However, I will say the gun seems to have great potential as some of the groups using open sights are very good.To bring out the best potential accuracy from this air rifle, You will want to mount a scope. Here is where I feel these Refurbished guns really shine. The scope that comes with the new boxed Air Hawk combo is less than ideal. It is adequate to the task but limited in its capabilities and durability. One can buy this scope-less Refurb model for nearly $40 less and use that savings (+ $10 - $40 more) to purchase a much better scope with a zoom function and an adjustable parallax objective. This is a must for any serious air gunner.IMHO, This refurbished Ruger Air Hawk is a winner. I think you will look long and hard to find a better deal on a solid, dependable air rifle. Now if they just had a Refurb Air Hawk in .22 for this price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit! The rifle is made well and shoots great, this is the second one I bought so you know if I bought a second the first one met my needs for control of small pest around the farm, it is loud when fired. My Daughter wanted one of her own after using mine.
