Details & Specs

Rudder Bows Archery Handmade Hickory Longbow is a hunter's favorite. BIG BUCKS OFF!

Swift. Silent. Reliable! Historically, the D-shaped Longbow is preferred by traditional archers like Robin Hood and his side-kick Little John. Longbows have been the Bow of choice for hundreds, even thousands of years for hunting and warfare. As seen in action by ancient Nubians, Kurds, Arabs and Native American tribes. Today's wooden Longbows (like this Rudder Bows unit) are handmade from tough-as-nails solid sapwood hickory... the better choice to withstand compression and tension.

Zing! A Longbow has practical advantages compared to a modern recurve or compound is usually lighter, quicker to prepare for shooting and zips arrows more quietly. No wonder it's a favorite among hunters. Great target Bow, too. And now our special buy shoots BIG BUCKS OFF!

I returned this bow because it was very twisted and unusable the defect was so obvious that if it had been inspected before shipping it would not have been shipped. I wanted to reorder this Rudder Bow but was afraid I would get another not inspected product.

I ordered a 50-55 pound bow and the one I got was 52@28. The limbs are tillered nicely and bend evenly. Grip area is comfortable but people with large hands might find it small. The string included is a Flemish twist and it doesn't have a serving so you will have to put one on. Also these bows are hand made and it shows so don't expect a "factory" type finish. The bow is very smooth and shoots great. Overall a good traditional starter bow and are also perfect for a primitive setup.

bought this for my daughter. She loves it and will really enjoy the unit when weather agrees to allow shooting it. Very well made.

These are excellent hickory primitive bows. I have purchased 3 of them and that are all the same high quality for a very inexpensive price. They shoot very well and I am more than happy with them. I am hitting consistently at 40 yards. The shape and cut of site window allows great alignment for instinctive shooting with the draw hand close to the arrow to shoot and enjoy a simple bent piece of wood. Get one you won't believe the quality of this bow for such a reasonable price.
