Quikclot® Gauze. A proven military technology used to quickly stop bleeding.

The U.S. Military have used Quikclot for years to treat battlefield wounds, and now you can too. The secret to Quikclot is a naturally occurring mineral called kaolin, which is known for its ability to instantly stop bleeding.

It's easy to use, simply rip open a packet, wrap the Gauze onto the wound and the bleeding stops rapidly. It's an essential tool to keep in your first aid kit, bug out bag or with your camping supplies. Includes two 3 x 24" sterile clotting strips.

A first aid essential proven by the U.S. Military.

Such as how WIDE is it, how LONG is it, do you just WRAP it around the would or does it have to be folded over and over to work?? If you do, how many folded times to be effective??? </h2> <div class="bvseo-question-detail"> </div> <div class="bvseo-author">Asked by: Kerry K</div> <div class="bvseo-answer" data-answerid="1586958"> After assessing the patient and preparing/cleaning the damaged area, you want to layer the gauze over the entry/exit wound that you&apos;re dressing. Make as much of the gauze as possible fit into and covering the entry/exit wound. You want as much of the active ingredient that causes the clotting to occur in contact with the wound as possible. If it&apos;s a no joke &quot;through- and- through&quot; wound you gotta pack both holes. Probably the reason they come in packs of two. If it&apos;s a gusher you need to pack quick and maintain pressure over the wound. Put more sterile gauze over the quikclot and then wrap your work with a field bandage, or &quot;vetrap&quot;, &quot;ace bandage&quot; or other suitable material that you can fasten your quikclot gauze into place. Then call in your nine line medevac request, pop smoke and prepare to transport.
